Jane Stevenson, MP for Wolverhampton North East, met with Airbus Helicopters UK to learn more about the helicopter community in the UK and how they support our emergency services, armed forces and national infrastructure.
The event, hosted by Jack Lopresti MP, and organised by Airbus, brought together parliamentarians and partners from across the UK helicopter community to celebrate these heroes of the skies and work they do in saving lives, keeping people safe and reaching environments that no other form of transport can.
During her visit Jane met with inspiring members of the industry including pilots, apprentices, and engineers.
Commenting, Jane said:
"I was delighted to attend a special reception in the House of Commons which showcased the vital role that helicopters play. It was fantastic to meet with the extremely talented pilots and engineers who are involved in so many life-saving operations.”
“I am a big supporter of apprenticeships, and I am pleased to see that courses are being supported by the UK helicopter community for aspiring engineers and pilots”
Guests heard speeches from Lenny Brown, Managing Director Airbus Helicopters UK, and Bradley Morgan, an Airbus apprentice, among others. They also had the opportunity to meet with representatives from Air Ambulance charities, the Police Memorial Trust, RAF Shawbury, Oxford airport along with a range of other organisations and companies from the private sector.
